Kansas Fire & Rescue Training Institute

Serving the Kansas Fire Service since 1949.

The Kansas Fire & Rescue Training Institute was created in 1949 by Kansas law to provide training for the Kansas Fire Service. The Institute is a dynamic organization providing training services through a "Mobile Fire Academy" concept. This concept is designed to accommodate local needs through training delivered anytime, anyplace, or anywhere in Kansas.

ATTENTION: ONLY active Kansas Firefighters and emergency response personnel are eligible to take Kansas Fire & Rescue Training Institute (KFRTI) courses at no cost.  Firefighters living out of the State of Kansas should contact KFRTI at kufire@ku.edu or call our toll free phone number (866-804-8841) to request special permission to take this class. Enrollments are monitored daily and unauthorized (non-Kansas firefighters) will be removed from the course and their registration fee refunded.

If you would like to request Kansas Fire & Rescue Training Institute to provide training for your private organization or to your non-firefighting public service organization, please contact the Institute at the email or phone number above.
